Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how FodCare (the “App”) handles user information.
1. Information handled
The App handles meal photos, estimated dish names, portions and FODMAP levels, dates and times, symptoms, bowel movements, notes, and an anonymous user identifier. Saved records remain on your device.
2. How information is used
Meal photos are used to estimate dishes, portions, and FODMAP levels. Records are used to review meals and symptoms and show trends. They are not used for diagnosis, treatment, advertising, or tracking.
3. External transmission and sharing
When you consent to photo analysis, the meal photo is sent to the Google Gemini API over an encrypted connection. GNOSFLARE does not store the photo on its server, but Google may retain inputs and analysis results for a limited period to detect and prevent abuse. Firebase Authentication, Cloud Functions, and Firestore are used for authentication, analysis, usage limits, and Premium status. These processes handle an anonymous user identifier, analysis counts, Premium status, and purchase status. The App does not use advertising SDKs, HealthKit, or cloud sync.
4. In-App Purchases
Apple StoreKit is used to purchase Premium and verify subscription status. Apple processes payments. The developer does not receive your name, Apple Account credentials, or card details.
5. Storage and deletion
Records remain on your device until you delete them and can be removed from Settings. Usage counts and Premium status linked to an anonymous identifier are retained on the server only as needed. Contact us to request their deletion.
6. Children’s privacy
The App is not directed primarily to children under 13. Minors should use it with a parent, guardian, or healthcare professional when appropriate.
7. Security
Data is stored within the iOS app sandbox. We recommend using iOS protections such as a device passcode, Face ID, and appropriate backup settings.
8. Changes
This Policy may be updated as features or laws change. Material changes will be announced in the App.
